“Jeeves and the Delayed Exit of Claude and Eustace”

(original transmission date: 4/1/1966)

“Jeeves and the Delayed Exit of Claude and Eustace” is the first episode of the second series of The World of Wooster and was adapted by Richard Waring.

It is one of the only two complete episodes of the series confirmed to exist, the other being “Jeeves, the Aunt, and the Sluggard”. It was selected in 1982 to rerun as part of the BBC's 60th anniversary celebration programming, and seems to have been by then the sole remaining episode held in the BBC archives, possibly due to its having been entered in the 1966 Rose d'Or Awards. It was repeated on BBC Four in 2002. The BFI holds the original master, as well as viewing tapes1 (Betamax and VHS), and the Kaleidoscope Archive holds a 16mm telerecording. A low quality telerecording also circulates online and is for most the only way to enjoy a taste of the series2.
